Post-Tornado Looters Arrest in Raleigh
Following destructive tornadoes throughout North Carolina, which caused more than $115 million in damage, a spree of burglaries and looting was reported throughout Raleigh leading to several arrests, including the arrest of two more men recently.
Over 130 homes were destroyed during the tornadoes that touched down last weekend, as well the destruction of many businesses and stores. This sparked a looting spree in which 4 people were arrested, followed by an additional two people this week for felony looting.
The two men who were arrested this week were found looting a Dish Network office which had been deemed unsafe by inspectors. They were charged with felony looting and second-degree trespassing, as well as one charge for felony breaking and entering.
These types of theft crime charges are extremely serious due to the potential for a felony conviction. If you have been arrested for a crime, the Raleigh Law Firm can help fight to protect your rights and defend your case.
