Police Find Dead Body while Investigating Theft
When officers arrived at a home to ask about a victim's stolen vehicle, they found a dead body instead.
According to a local police department, officers picked up a 21-year-old man who had crashed one vehicle and was attempting to steal a second one. Unluckily for him, two eyewitnesses were able to detain him after the crash and prevent him from taking the second car. However, he did run away from them and stole a pickup truck from down the street.
While some officers were in pursuit of the driver, others went to the home that was listed on the registration for the crashed car. They found the 73-year-old female owner dead in her own home.
At this time, police are not releasing her cause of death. It is uncertain whether it is related to the theft. A few hours later, the suspect was detained and charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
