Walmart Greeter Robs Own Store; Arrested
On Sunday evening at around 7 p.m. in a Statesville Walmart a robbery occurred, resulting in the arrest of the suspect involved.
An 83-year-old man named George Plane Jr., reportedly left his station as a greeter at the wamart at approximately 7 p.m., going to his vehicle to acquire a weapon and a disguise.
He entered the garden center, pointing a gun at an employee demanding cash from the register. He fired at least a single shot into the air before fleeing. He was caught a short distance from the store by police in the area.
