Man Commits Theft to Stop Foreclosure on His Home

In an attempt to keep his home from foreclosure, a Rolesville man committed theft crimes and then attempted to sell the items online.

According to Raleigh police reports, Michael Minh Tran has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of larceny. Tran shoplifted several small electronic items from Sam's Club, and told police that he wanted to sell them online to save his home in the 400 block of Froyle Court. Since Tran had to come up with $7,000 before the end of June to keep his home, he was desperate and willing to try theft crimes to keep it.

Tran was released the same day as his arrest after posting the $5,000 bond.
