Former Race Car Driver in Legal Trouble
Once a star of the racing circuit, one man has taken a serious plunge from fame to notoriety.
The 42-year-old man was arrested last week in North Carolina after police searched his home and located stolen goods. Thanks to an anonymous tip placed to the Sheriff's Office, officers were dispatched to his home in Catawba where they found $100,000 worth of stolen goods. These items are believed to have been stolen from two trucking companies. In addition, the man was found to be in possession of 1.5 grams of methamphetamine as well as forty firearms.
Among the stolen items were an engraving machine, truck parts, heavy equipment parts, and welding machinery. Police say these items may have been stolen from local businesses in the years prior.
At this time, the former driver is denying all the drug crimes and theft crime charges against him. It is uncertain who placed the call to law enforcement to alert police of the crimes.
