Woman Crashes into Police Cruiser While DUI
While driving drunk is never a good idea, it is even worse to crash into a police cruiser while intoxicated.
One woman made both of these terrible mistakes last weekend in North Carolina. The 44-year-old suspect was driving on an interstate when she attempted to make an illegal turn. As a result, she steered into the path of an oncoming police cruiser. The impact was great enough to cause her SUV to flip over, injuring her passenger. As for the officer, he was also injured and required a brief hospitalization.
When responding officers spoke with the woman shortly after the incident, they quickly determined that she had been driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). However, she did refuse a breathalyzer test, which means that her license was suspended as per state law. This is not the suspect's first DUI charge as she was released on bail from a previous DUI arrest earlier this year.
