DUI Suspect Tries to Avoid Arrest by Running from Officers
One man was so determined to not get arrested that he attempted to lose police officers during a foot chase last week in North Carolina.
According to the police report, officers pulled a man driving a pickup truck over when they noticed his erratic road behavior. Officers had reason to believe the man was intoxicated, especially after his truck rolled back towards their police cruiser numerous times without the man even noticing. When one officer asked the suspect to step out of the vehicle, he fled on foot.
After pulling up his information from their database, officers learned that the man was not just driving intoxicated, but also driving on a suspended license. A short while later, officers caught a break when the suspect was seen entering a nearby residence. Again, several officers tried to detain the man, but he ran off on foot.
Following a brief chase, authorities were able to detain the suspect and he was arrested on charges of DUI as well as evading police.
