The police report shows that M.L.E., 33, was pulled over when a Columbia County officer witnessed a traffic infraction. As soon as the sheriff's deputy walked up to the SUV, he said the odor of marijuana was strong. A quick search of the vehicle revealed 15 pounds of marijuana, two illegal prescriptions and 8 ounces of an unknown purple liquid. The liquid was sent to a lab for further analysis.
M.L.E. now faces a variety of drug offenses, including a felony for possessing more than one ounce of marijuana. He was also charged with failure to signal while changing lanes.
